Our Church History
On Sunday, February 12, 1993, the Lord placed a vision upon the heart of Rev. R.K. Moore for a stronger church. This vision would soon become a reality, transforming lives and impacting the community. On Wednesday, February 15, 1993, a meeting was held at the Mississippi Baptist Seminary with approximately sixty of God’s children in attendance. It was there that Rev. Moore shared the vision God had placed upon his heart, and the Stronger Hope Missionary Baptist Church was born. Just a few days later, on Sunday, February 19, 1993, the church family moved to a new location on North West Street, where the church was formally organized, and the first worship service took place. After four months at this location, Stronger Hope moved to a shopping center at Watkins Drive and Forest Avenue. In June 1993, our pastor shared with us the next step in God’s plan: “to move into a permanent location. ” On Sunday, February 12, 1994, the Stronger Hope family moved to our current location on Beasley Road. God’s guidance continued as, in November 1998, He placed a burden on our pastor’s heart to build a new edifice. The construction began in February 2001 and was completed by December of that same year. In 2003, we embarked on a new journey with the groundbreaking of a ten-unit commercial outlet aimed at helping our members start their own businesses. This vision will empower our community and provide new opportunities for growth. Plans are now underway for the construction of a new Community Life Complex. This facility will include a gymnasium, classrooms, a weight room, a commercial kitchen, and a bowling alley—continuing our mission to provide for the needs of our community and enrich the lives of those we serve. As we continue on this journey, Stronger Hope Church remains committed to exalting the Savior, equipping the saints, and evangelizing the sinner. We look forward to all that God has yet to reveal and do through us in the years to come.
Our Core Beliefs
At the core of our faith is the belief that salvation comes through Jesus Christ, offering forgiveness and eternal life to all who trust in Him. We also believe in the power of prayer as a way to connect with God, seek guidance, and find strength. Community is essential to our faith journey, as we are called to support and grow together in Christ. These core beliefs—salvation through Christ, the power of prayer, and the importance of community—guide and inspire us in living out our faith.
